“GET HIRED” EL PASO’S BIGGEST JOB FAIR & EDUCATION EXPO OF THE YEAR!
Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande is proud to announce our 11th Get Hired job fair event! Get Hired is known as El Paso’s biggest job fair of the year. Last year we had 9,452 job seekers, 1,300 students and over 150 employers attend this event. This year, we currently have 250 registered employers with over 6,000 positions to fill, and the number is still growing!
The event will take place Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center in downtown El Paso. Job seekers should be prepared for onsite interviews and resumes are recommended.
“This is our biggest event of the year, and one of which we are very proud. We are committed to helping members of our region succeed and improving our local economy. Get Hired is the perfect event to do so,” said Lorenzo Reyes, Jr., Workforce Solutions Chief Executive Officer.
Some of the employers registered for Get Hired 2013 include: Nike factory store, Coca-Cola Refreshments, Coach, Dish, El Paso Police Department, El Paso Sheriff’s Department, El Paso Fire Department, Time Warner, Walgreens, Fred Loya insurance, Hewlett Packard, Macy’s, Walmart, Verizon Wireless, Texas Department of Public Safety and many more.
Colleges, universities, and training providers will be in attendance as well for our education expo. Last year was the first year we combined the education expo and the job fair. It was such a success that we decided to do it again! 11th and 12th grade students from around the region will be bussed in to explore all future higher education possibilities. Information for universities such as UT Austin, USC, Baylor and numerous other schools will be available to students on this day.
Students and job seekers can attend workshops at Get Hired as well. For example, resume writing and interview tips. There is no cost to attend this job fair, parking is free and workshops are based on a first come, first serve basis until full.
