Unemployment Insurance (UI) is handled by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), not Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande. You can use our phones, computers and fax machine. Then we can help you with employment and support services.

Following are the phone numbers, both toll free and local, claimants should use to contact UI Tele-Center:

• click on the third bulleted link in the upper left-hand corner of the page called “Unemployment Insurance (UI) Information;”
• on the “Unemployment Claim and Appeals Information” page, scroll down to the “Feedback” section at the bottom right-hand side of the page;
• and click on the first link in that section called “Email Questions or Comments on Unemployment Information.”

TWC staff will get back to the claimant within 48 hours.
Claimants may use this new “Contact UI” function for the following reasons:
• Information on how to File a new claim
• Questions about existing claim
• Address change
• PIN change/reset
• Other

Best time to call:
Call volumes are always highest on Mondays and Tuesdays. The best time for
claimants to get through to TWC is later in the day and at the end of the week.

Wage Claims:
For all questions related to Wage Claims, claimants should call 1-800-832-9243
(or 800-832-WAGE).
